PLEASE READ, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Measuring your dog correctly
is the most important step when ordering. Please
take your time when measuring and have someone with you to help.
Shown in the above diagram are areas that you will need to measure for any of the
apparel we offer at doggies designs . If you don't have a cloth measuring tape,
use a piece of ribbon or
string and then measure that against a ruler/yardstick or metal tape measure.
#1 ( B ) NECK:
Place the tape around the neck at the place where a collar would fit.
Not to tight or too loose. ( Comfortable.)
Now write down the inches
on a piece of paper and then," measure neck again "....then repeat one more time.
This way you are sure it's the exact measurement. Don't add inches in the total
so your pup has 'room
to grow', or add inches in the overlap to where the Velcro
straps attach. We will figure this out for you, when
making your garments. We just need the ACTUAL measurement.
#2 (
C ) GIRTH/CHEST:
Again REPEAT the above ( Not too tight, not to loose ) But this
time for the chest size. this does NOT go around the stomach. It goes directly behind the front legs
around the widest part of the
chest or ribcage. Depending on your breed of dog, You will want the
widest part of the chest
this could be further back behind the front legs on some breeds. Always give the widest
measurement
so that it will fit around your furry baby. then repeat this step one more time. Now write down the inches
on a piece of paper. " You are doing a great job!!! :o) "
#3 HALF BACK FOR
HARNESS VESTS AND SHIRTS OR SHORT WAIST JACKETS:
( Not Pictured in diagram, example
)
Now for the half back.Length measurement, this measurement is if you
are ordering the Harness vest/vest dress or a shorter waist Jacket, measure along the dog behind the
neck, Where collar line is, You are on top of the body measure length until you are approximately behind the front
legs, but on top of pet... This will give us an idea of the length ,that will be needed to make the garment.
You will also want to provide a Girth/Chest measurement for this type garment. Place the measuring tape around the girth through
the widest part of the chest. or repeat read # 2.
If you have a Furbaby with an extremely large
or smaller neck? You may want to include a neck measurement as well... Your doing a great Job... :o), it's
worth the trouble, your furry baby will have great fitting, great looking new garments.
#4 ( A ) LENGTH
FULL BODY COATS,DRESSES,PAJAMAS,ROMPERS.
To measure for any other items such as dresses,
coats, robes, Rompers or pj's, We will need a measurement from the neck to the base <---base? this is where the
tail starts, (not the tip) of the tail. you will be on top along your furry babies
body... You will need this measurement in addition to the above measurements. #1 ( B ) & #2 ( C ).
Wait !!! for Pajamas & Rompers you may also need # 5.
#5 LEGS ( Not Pictured
in diagram, example )
It is best to give measurements for legs if the item ordered has legs
in it..Such as Rompers,PJ's, Pants,Overalls & some Costumes...
Measure from the inside leg to where
you want the material to stop. For instance, to measure the front leg length, measure from the "arm-pit" to the
inside "ankle". The same would work for the backleg measuring..Measure the inner thigh or where the leg meets the
groin area measure down to the "ankle"..
#6 Waist ( Not Pictured in diagram, example
)
For any apparel such as panties & Bikinis, we need a waist measurement. Measure
around the waist, in front of the hind legs.
HATS & VISORS
If
you are ordering a hat or Visor Bandana, you will want to email the measurement of the space between the ears.
